Technology in the Library
Computer Labs
Two computer labs are located in the Merrill-Cazier Library, the Information Commons (IC) North and South Labs, and the Sci-Tech Lab. For a list of available software see USU IT's Lab Software List.
Tech Available for Checkout
Laptops, iPads, calculators, webcams, and more are available for checkout. Most items can be checked out for 3 hours. See the full list of technology and equipment for more information.
3D Printers, Pen, and Scanner
Two UPBOX+ 3D printers, a 3D pen, and 3D scanner can be used by USU students and staff. Objects can be printed up to a volume of 25.5 x 20.5 x 20.5 cm (10" x 8" x 8") for $.05 per gram or $.15 per 3-foot filament.
To use, visit the Emerging Tech Area located in Information Commons South.

Media and Tech Spaces
Virtual Reality (VR) Lab
The VR Lab provides a unique space for experimenting with virtual reality as a tool for teaching, learning, and design.
One Button Recording Studio
The One Button Studio is an easy-to-use recording studio. Located in First Level South, Room 108.
Disability Resource Center Room
Provides screen-reading software and tools. Located in Room 114, First Level North.
Contact the Disability Resource Center for access.
Recording Studio (Room 202F)
Soundproof recording studio with PC/Mac, micophone, and recording software. For faculty/staff use only.
Audio/Video Viewing Room
Provides DVD Player, VCR and other devices for viewing library media. Located in Room 158K, First Level West.

Study Rooms and Family Spaces
Group Study Rooms
Over forty study rooms are available for student use in the library. Study rooms can be reserved for 2-hour blocks up to 2 days in advance.
Family Room
A large study space with toys and games to support students and their children. Located in Library Room 143, First Floor Southwest.
Room does not require a reservation to use or access.
Infant Care and Lactation Room
A sanitary room provided for visitors caring for infants. Located in Room 139, First Floor West.
Room does not require a reservation to use or access.
Classrooms and Meeting Spaces
Merrill-Cazier Library has several spaces that can be reserved for meetings and other events by USU students, faculty and staff, and other campus or public groups. Fees may apply. To request library instruction classrooms, see library.usu.edu/instruct/rooms.

To Request a Room using scheduling.usu.edu:
- Go to scheduling.usu.edu.
- Log in with your A# and password.
- Click on Locations
- Scroll down to Merrill-Cazier Library
- Select the room you want and complete the reservation.
Your reservation will be reviewed and is not complete until the library approves the request and sends you a confirmation.
