Andrea Payant

Biography

Andrea Payant is the Chair of the Digital Stewardship Program and Metadata Librarian in the Special Collections & Archives Section at USU Libraries. In this role she provides leadership and direction on digital curation and metadata best practices in cooperation with a wide range of stakeholders. Her research focuses on improving the discoverability of archival materials, optimizing metadata creation based on user search behavior, crowdsourcing metadata, and metadata quality benchmarks. Her research has been published in various scholarly journals including Cataloging & Classification Quarterly, The Journal of Archival Organization, and The Journal of Academic Librarianship. Her academic rank is Associate Librarian with tenure.
