Learn the basics of podcast editing in this hands-on workshop at the Innovation Hub. Whether you're starting a podcast for a class project, a research initiative, or a personal passion, this session will give you the skills to produce polished audio on your own.
This workshop will introduce attendees to the fundamentals of audio editing for podcasts using Audacity, a free, open-source audio editing application. Audacity is one of the most widely used tools for podcast production, offering a full suite of editing features — including cutting, trimming, noise reduction, and multi-track mixing — without any cost or subscription. It's available on Windows, Mac, and Linux, making it an accessible option for any student or researcher looking to create professional-sounding audio content.
Through guided, hands-on activities, participants will learn how to use Audacity's core editing features to clean up and refine recorded podcast audio. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped to edit their own podcasts — from trimming dead air and adjusting levels to exporting a finished episode ready to share.
