Grad Students: Help us improve library services!

Questions? Contact Alex Sundt, User Experience Librarian | alex.sundt@usu.edu

A group of five college students sit around a table in a library study room, actively engaged in a collaborative discussion. One woman stands near a whiteboard with math formulas, holding a marker and smiling, while the others sit with laptops, notebooks, and pens, appearing focused and enthusiastic.

Are you a current graduate student pursuing a master’s or PhD? We are seeking students to participate in a 2-hour in-person design workshop on Nov. 20th from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Merrill-Cazier Library. The purpose of this workshop is to learn more about students and your needs related to research and library services. It will involve several fun, hands-on activities, including building with Legos to help visualize ways to make the library more welcoming.

Activities will include:

  • Using Lego bricks to explore your experiences and needs as students
  • Working with your peers to discuss your library/research needs
  • Designing a marketing campaign to help connect graduate students with library resources/services

To show our appreciation for participating, we’ll provide pizza and refreshments during the workshop.

Interested in participating? To sign up, complete this short survey.

Participants must be at least 18 years or older, currently enrolled in a graduate degree program that requires the completion of a thesis or dissertation, and not be a current library employee. In addition, students seeking degrees with a focus on user experience/usability or computer science or engineering are excluded from participation.
