USU libraries offer instructors of all disciplines the opportunity to collaborate with library faculty and staff to provide library instruction tailored to your subject area and teaching needs.

Library instruction teaches students how to use library resources and other sources of information, and develops their skills and expertise as researchers and information consumers.

Research Guides

Research guides provide curated lists of library databases, tutorials, and other helpful information designed to provide a launchpad for student research. Every USU course has an integrated research guide that is automatically displayed in Canvas and can be fully customized to support your course research assignments.

E-Learning

In addition to research guides, we offer e-learning resources to support library instruction in online and hybrid formats. These resources can be integrated into Canvas and adapted to meet your curricular needs. Browse available online learning assets in our e-learning repository or contact us at library.help@usu.edu to explore options for developing online information literacy resources for your course.

Library Workshops

We can also provide library workshops to your classes via face-to-face, zoom, and broadcast formats. Library workshops provide opportunities for more focused library instruction and guided research support. To ensure a librarian is available to visit your class, please provide at least 2-weeks advanced notice for library workshops.

Library Help

Students can visit the Library Help Desk in the Merrill-Cazier library, or connect with library help via chat or email.

Research Consultations

Students seeking more in-depth help can meet with a librarian for one-on-one or small-group consultations. Consultations provide an opportunity for students discuss and explore their research topics, learn more about sources, and develop a search strategy alongside a librarian.
