Button Maker Punch Cutter

Button Maker Punch Cutter

The Serger, or Overlocker, is a specialized sewing machine that uses three or four threads at once to bind fabrics together and leave a clean edge. The Serger sews much faster than a regular sewing machine, and the setup is particular, making it a more advanced specialty machine. This machine can be used to create a more professional finish on projects but cannot replace all the functions of a regular sewing machine, as it cannot be used for topstitching, zippers, buttons, etc.

Safety Considerations

  • Fast Moving Needle: The sewing machine uses sharp needles and moves them very quickly. Make sure not to let your fingers under the needle, as you can sew it into your skin.
  • Sharps Disposal: If the sewing needle breaks, carefully put the broken piece in the yellow sharps container and find an Explorer to help you change the needle.
  • Blade: The blade that cuts off the fabric is very sharp. Avoid putting your fingers here.
