USU Eastern Course Reserves

For Students

Physical materials are available for checkout at the LLC Reserve Bookroom. Materials can be checked out for a duration set by the professor.

For Faculty & Instructors

Placing materials on reserve helps USU students succeed by providing alternative access to course materials that may be supplemental, expensive or difficult to obtain, or in high demand.

Requests to place items on reserve for student to use for your courses may be submitted through the online form. Please feel free to contact eastern.library@usu.edu for assistance.

Retention & Copyright Policies

If we do not hear from you by the last day of the semester in which your item(s) expire, we will return the hard copies of your Reserve materials to your department office. To request an item to be removed, please complete and return the Removing materials on Course Reserve Form.

Copyright Restrictions:

Placement of materials on reserve constitutes acceptance of the terms as set forth below.

WARNING CONCERNING COPYRIGHT RESTRICTIONS

The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, USC) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of these specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "Fair Use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law. (General Rule: 10% of a book or 1 Chapter, whichever is less)

Statement of Responsibility:

Placement of materials on reserve constitutes acceptance of the terms as set forth below.

  2. The Library does not assume responsibility for loss or damage to personal copies.
