Soldering Iron Instructions

Important Safety Information

  • Plug the soldering iron only into a wall outlet. Do not plug the soldering iron into a power strip or extension cord.
  • Soldering irons are only to be used with soldering material. Do not attempt to use it on any other materials, including wood, plastic, or 3D print filament.
  • Use soldering iron only when the fume extractor is running and placed close to your project.
  • Wash hands thoroughly after using soldering iron or touching soldering equipment to reduce the risk of lead exposure.
  • Do not touch the soldering iron tip, even after it is unplugged. Be aware all exposed metal will heat to the temperature set. Only the rubber handle is safe to touch.
  • If you are not holding the iron, it must be properly situated in the stand. Never set it on a table or other surface.
  • Avoid loose or dangling clothing and tie back long hair before use.
  • Do not return the iron to the box until it is completely cooled (an employee can put it away later if you need to leave).
