Photo Studio Instructions

  1. Check that the battery is in the camera. If not, check with the consultant.
  2. Take off the lens cap then turn on the camera.
  3. (Optional) Tether the camera to Adobe Lightroom for live editing:
    1. Plug in the tether cable on the left side of the camera.
    2. Attach the safety magnet to the tether cable.
    3. Turn on the computer and change the monitor input to DP by using the buttons on the bottom right of the screen to select ‘Adjust Image Properties’ - ‘Image Source’ - ‘DP’.
    4. Log in to the computer and then sign in to Adobe Lightroom. This requires a request for permission from the university.
    5. Watch the intro video to complete the setup.
  4. Put the camera in ‘auto’ by rotating the top left dial until the green ‘A’ is matched with the white dash.
  5. Place your subject on the turntable inside of the light box.
  6. Turn on the interior lights using the dial on the roof of the light box.
  7. Position the camera and use the auto-focus button on Lightroom to get your image in a desired composition.
  8. While tethered, photos must be taken using the Lightroom software, the camera interface will be disabled.
  9. Once finished:
    1. Put on the lens-cap.
    2. Turn off the camera.
    3. Unplug the tethering cable.
    4. Return the tripod to the corner of the room.
    5. Turn off the Lightbox and turn-table.
    6. Save or send files to a personal location.
    7. Log out of the computer.
