Select a Pre-made Paper Design or Make Your Own

Select a pre-made paper design from the drawer or make your own using the American Button Machines template online.

(3" Only) Insert Fastener Into Perforated Metal Piece to Make the Pin

With the safety pin open, slide the pin into one of the holes of the perforated metal piece and the clasp into the other hole. The zig-zag portion of the pin should be on the side of the metal piece which pops out (see pictures 1-4). Place the assembled pin into side B of the Button Maker, with the safety pin side facing down.

Place a Smooth Metal Piece

On slot A of the button maker, place a smooth metal piece (round side up) (I) into the slot, followed by a round paper cutout (design side up) (II), followed by a clear round mylar piece (III). Orient the picture to be parallel with the pin placed in slot B (Zigzag part of the pin facing up).

Rotate Slot A & Press

Rotate slot A under the press and pull down the red handle.

Rotate Slot B & Press

Rotate slot B under the press and pull down the red handle. Remove the pin from the slot.
