The Merrill-Cazier Library is showcasing all of the 2012 Faculty Authors and their books in the Richard Schockmel USU Collections Room on the 2nd floor of the Library. We are proud of USU's faculty authors! This week we are highlighting:
Harrison Kleiner, Lecturer of Philosophy, Department of Languages, Philosophy, & Communication Studies Kleiner, Harrison, 2012. The Perennial Conversation: An Introduction to Philosophy. Dubuque, IA: Kendall Hunt Publishing Company.
The Perennial Conversation: An Introduction to Philosophy introduces students to philosophy through selected readings culled from the great books of the western philosophical tradition. Readings are organized chronologically from the ancient Greeks through the 20th century. Embedded in the selections are definitions of technical terminology as well as "reading questions," which ask students to explain arguments and identify objections. These reading questions function as a built in reading guide, prompting students to identify and explain important passages and ideas.
