Grad Student Workshop: Citation Management

Grad Student Workshop: Citation Management

Where: Merrill-Cazier Library, Room 122

When: Thursday, February 2nd, 3:30-4:30 pm OR Friday, February 3rd, 12:00-1:00 pm

Get your semester off to the right start by learning citation management tips and tricks! This workshop will be offered twice, with content repeated at each session. RSVP for the workshop today!

In this workshop, you will learn about the benefits of reference management software in general as well as the specific features of the three USU Libraries-supported programs: Zotero, EndNote, and Mendeley.

The first part of this event will cover factors to consider when choosing a citation management program and provide suggestions for maximizing their usefulness over the course of your graduate career. Next, three librarian experts in Zotero, EndNote, and Mendeley will lead breakout sessions on each program, including plenty of time for your questions.

This workshop is appropriate for those who haven't yet started using a citation management program, novice users, and more experienced users with technical questions.

Though the workshop will be held in a library computer lab, it is suggested that participants bring a personal laptop. Students using citation management programs other than the Libraries-supported ones are welcome to attend and share their experiences as we plan for future workshops.
