Sherlock Holmes and Mormonism

The Friends of Merrill-Cazier Library will present a lecture by Michael W. Homer on Thursday, March 5th. Homer will discuss Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's A Study in Scarlet, the 1887 novel which introduced Sherlock Holmes and centered around Mormonism. Doyle's portrayal of Mormonism, the public reaction to the story, and his subsequent observations about Utah and the Mormons will be discussed.
