The Merrill-Cazier Library is showcasing all of the 2013 Faculty Authors and their books in the Richard Schockmel USU Collections Room on the 2nd floor of the Library. We are proud of USU's faculty authors! This week we are highlighting:

Patricia M. Gantt

Associate Dean of HASS

Professor Department of English

Burriss, Theresa L. & Gantt, Patricia M. (Eds.). 2013. Appalachia in the Classroom: teaching the region. Athens, OH: Ohio University Press.

Appalachia in the Classroom provides topics and teaching strategies that represent the diversity found within the region, including chapters on teaching Appalachian poetry and fiction as well as discussions of nonfiction, films, and folklore. Appalachia is a distinctive region with various cultural characteristics that can't be essentialized or summed up by a single text.
