This year, the Fife Folklore Archives at Utah State University has acquired a collection from folklorist Norine Dresser, complete with 3,000 slides, 2 DVDs, 1 film, 2 posters, a scrapbook, and more. A large portion of Dresser's collection is dedicated to all vampires, take a look at some of our findings!
Roman Nails Or Vampire Stakes?

You've heard the myth: one of the few ways to vanquish a vampire is to drive a wooden stake through its heart.
However, did you know that the origins of this myth stretch back thousands of years and are rooted in the real practice of staking? In medieval Europe, people suspected of being vampires had their cadavers “staked” into their coffins to prevent them from rising from the ground.
We can only guess how Norine Dresser came to acquire these Roman nails, but considering her dedication to all things undead, we'll keep them on hand... just in case.
A Vast Vampire Collection

Whether you enjoy curling up with a good Anne Rice novel or binge-watching shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, we doubt you're as passionate about vampires as Norine Dresser, who is a card-carrying member of the Transylvanian Society of Dracula.
As a recognized authority on vampires, it's only natural that a significant part of this collection is dedicated to vampire memorabilia, including these fascinating slides!
