How do I find a family history or other publication in Special Collections?
Nearly all publications (reports, pamphlets, family histories, books, journals, theses) are in the library catalog. Collection-level records for Photographs, Manuscript, Folklore, and USU Archives are also included in the catalog.How do I research a USU topic?
Check both the online catalog and collection registers search engine. Keep in mind that we also have Buzzer yearbooks from 1909 to 1971, the student newspapers from 1902 to the present and the college catalogs from 1890 to the present. EAD is a more sophisticated search tool with searchable fields, more collection-level information, and more standardized terms and structure. Older collections use hand-coded html which is keyword searchable as well as searchable using internet search engines, like Google.How do I find a photograph of a specific person or place?
While it is helpful to do reasearch with collection-level records, like those found in the library catalog, for specific people and places keyword search in the registers.I'm using the SCA search engine, but I can't find anything helpful
*Remember to use quotes, "Utah State University" vs. Utah State University to search for a phrase.
*Use the "find in page" feature available on all internet browsers.
*People used many variations on their name - try as many different variations and spellings as you can think of.
*Try using less words in the search box to widen your search.
