Presidential Recordings Program

Description

Audio files and transcripts of United States presidents' conversations. From 1940 to 1973, US presidents secretly recorded just under 5,000 hours of in-person and telephone conversations. The Miller Center at the University of Virginia has made these audio files and their transcripts available to the public along with other digital exhibits detailing the administrations of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Lyndon B. Johnson, John F. Kennedy, and Richard M. Nixon.
