Connecting from Off Campus & Distance Education Library Services

Q: How can I use the Library’s online databases and electronic journals when I’m working off campus?
A:
  • Off-campus access through the USU Proxy Server is required if USU is not your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
  • You must be a current USU student, faculty, staff or emeritus faculty to get access to licensed library resources from off-campus.
  • A USU email account is required to use the Proxy Server. See instructions to sign up for an email account and to set up your web browser for proxy server or vpn access at this web page: http://library.usu.edu/elecres/off_campus.php
  • The University Library's subscriptions to electronic resources, such as article databases, e-journals, and e-books are to be used for educational purposes, and licenses restrict use to the campus network.
  • Access to subscription-based electronic resources, including article databases and electronic journals requires off-campus authentication.
  • The Distance Education Library Services web page describes services available to distant students and faculty
