Library Use, Preferences, and Attitudes
*Library Use
–Whitmire (2001): use of library increased between freshman and junior year, but never reached often of very often
–Seamans: 1st year students rarely use library as primary source of information
*Web Use
–surveys: heavy users of the Web for class assignments (around 80%); often the first choice
–Armstrong et. al: limited use of library and subscription resources; prefer the Web for it’s speed and convenience
–citation analyses: students increasingly using web sources in bibliographies (Davis; Krajewski and Piroli)
