Creating an Account in the Library Online Catalog

To request journals or books from storage (the BARN), reserve a group study room, or renew books online, you need to create an account in the library online catalog.

Instructions:

1. Open the library online catalog.
2. In upper right corner of the library catalog, click the Login icon.
   
3. Click the register as a new Information Portal user link.
   
4. Select Horizon and click Next.
   
5. Fill in all the blank boxes. Use your A number for your user name and Banner password for your password. You will have to re-type your A number in the 5th box.
   
   
6. Click Finish.
   

HINT: If you receive an error message after clicking the Finish button, take your USU ID card to the Circulation desk on the first floor of the library. The most likely problems are that you either have not checked out any materials from the library and therefore your A number is not in the system, or perhaps the library has your birth date recorded incorrectly.

NOTE: If you forget your login ID, you will need to set-up a new account, following this process.
