The
Online
Catalog (World Wide Web-based catalog) now includes cataloging
records for most US Government documents published subsequent to 1975.
Two important indexes/abstracts can be found using the Library Home
Page. One,
Congressional Universe,
is an index to committee-level congressional publications: hearings,
reports, and prints. In addition,
Congressional Universe provides
the full-text of the
Congressional Record and the
Federal
Register. The other noteworthy index,
Statistical
Universe, provides access to publications of the statistical
agencies of the US Government, including the Census Bureau, the National
Center for Education Statistics, and the National Center for Health
Statistics. One further important index, which has recently migrated
to the World Wide Web is the index to translated documents of the
Foreign
Broadcast Information Service (FBIS). The FBIS translates into English
such media as newspapers, radio, and television for all regions of the
world.
