The Merrill-Cazier Library serves the entire Utah State University (USU) community. USU is a land grant college and has a mandate for openness, accessibility, and service to people of the State of Utah. Accordingly, electronic resources licensed to the Libraries must be able to be made available to the entire (current) USU community, regardless of physical location, with appropriate authentication.
Authorized Users of the Merrill-Cazier Library will include the following groups: 1.) Persons registered as full or part-time students of USU in either degree or non-degree programs; USU faculty (including emeritus faculty); University administrators; and University staff; 2.) Authorized affiliates of the University including visiting scholars, researchers, and participants in outreach or internship programs; 3.) Individuals sponsored by USU faculty or staff and authorized to access the University network for their work; 4.) Any of the above regardless of physical location, with appropriate authentication; 5.) Any onsite user within the USU Libraries or other on-campus building.

USU Extension: As one of 68 land-grant colleges established under the Morrill Act of 1862, USU continues to support a robust extension program. University Extension is comprised of Cooperative Extension Service and Continuing Education Programs. Cooperative Extension has offices in 29 Utah areas and counties and delivers research-based information and educational programs to the people of Utah. Continuing Education offers a wide range of credit and noncredit educational opportunities available on campus, off campus, and by various distance education formats. 17 Continuing Education Centers around the state support the continuing education curriculum.
