About:

     Scholarly Communication Issues

In recent years, there has been an unprecedented increase in the price of journal subscriptions, particularly in the science, technology, and medical (STM) publishing arena. As a result, libraries spend more and more of their budgets on journals and yet have fewer subscriptions to show for it. Another corollary is that a smaller percentage of total library expeditures goes toward acquiring books. This crisis affects everyone who needs access to accurate and up-to-date information. Follow the links below to learn more about this topic. If we better understand the situation, faculty and librarians can work together to devise effective solutions.
