The Cataloging Department provides intellectual access to the library’s collections. Catalog Assistants and Catalog Librarians create and maintain the Library Catalog and prepare newly-acquired materials for the shelves. The Library Catalog, searchable by author, title, subject, keyword, and more, provides access to materials in a variety of formats, including print and electronic books and journals, music CDs, maps, and videos and DVDs.
In addition to cataloging the general collection, the Department also catalogs government documents, Special Collections, and materials in several specialized libraries across campus such as the Quinney Natural Resources Library, the Moore children’s Library, and YETC, the Education curriculum library. The library collections at the two USU Eastern campuses are also cataloged by the Logan Cataloging Department.
The Cataloging Department can be found on the second floor of the Merrill-Cazier Library, in Room 236 in the north wing. If you have a question, or want rush cataloging of a newly-acquired book, stop by and see us during normal business hours, or give us a call at 797-2666.
