The Library Bindery:
For the most part, the library's binding services take place at a commercial bindery determined through a University bidding process (presently, we use Utah Book Binding, Co.). The commercial bindery provides a two-week turn-around time.
The Library binding process begins when the Library Bindery gathers up journals from the Current Journals Area (2nd Level, East) and prepares these completed volumes for binding. Shipments are made to and from the commercial bindery every two weeks. All newly bound journals, upon receipt, are stored in the BARN;
The Library Bindery helps to maintain the integrity of journal collection by receiving journals, repairing damaged copies, identifying and locating missing issues, and processing journals for binding.
The Library Bindery helps library patrons find missing current issues of journals;
The Library Bindery maintains the current journal stacks (2nd Level, East);
The Library Bindery does in-house pam binding. Pam binding is used for pamphlets (text less than 1/2" thick), "stapled" into a binder using high-density green board for the front and back covers) and minor repair of materials.
