CAINE COLL MSS 28
Scope & Content Note
During the 1920s Henry S. Auerbach, a Salt Lake City merchant and realtor, sought out information on two mountain men,
Jim Bridger and Louis Vasquez. He posted an add in the Deseret News asking for anyone personally acquainted with either
of the gentlemen to write to a certain box number for a reward. The results of this project are partially found in this
collection of letters. These letters contain the contact and follow up of people personally acquainted with the mountain men.
This collection was purchased by a grant for the Marie-Eccles Caine foundation from the Auerbach manuscript sale catalogue in 1992.
